First Place

Colin Peasey and Ben Hough took out first place in style with a heavy bag weighing in at 3.740kg. They focused their efforts on the mid sections of the Murray River and took full advantage of the trailering options launching at Murray Bend. The fish came early for them both with one of Colin’s first casts of the day being their anchor fish which was a 1.080kg bream.

The rest of their bag was filled by Ben who was throwing a discontinued hardbody that prior to prefish he hadn’t tied on for years which included two 39cm and a 35cm fish.

When asked if he had anyone to thank Colin said “I would like to thank the sponsors and a special mention to Gosen I have been using their products for a year and a half and it’s the best braid I have used, the organisers for their hard work once again and loved the concept of trailering & to Ben that once again jumped on board as my usual partner Barry went away on his annual trip to shark bay”

Second Place

Alex Griesdorf and Ben Oakes look to be the team to beat this year backing up a 4th place finish in round one by narrowly taking out 2nd place this round. Alex and Ben fished town early filling a bag before heading over to fish the lower Murray River. They had a great day on the water landing over 30 legal fish between them.

Both anglers thanked Lowrance, Tackle Tactics and Whiteys Tackle for their support.

Coming in third was Mitch Vane and Mitch Clements who, like Colin and Ben, launched from Murray Bend where they then headed down river. Mitch and Mitch threw a lot of different lures to get the bites however in the end they only managed to land 7 legals all day, it just happened that they were all the right size fish.

Big Bream

Patrick Gill managed a new personal best bream on the weekend and what a time to catch it, a 47cm 1.690kg fish! Fishing was slow for most of their day managing a small bag and only landing 6 legals all day however their two big upgrades came after 1pm when tide started backing off and second bite time kicked in.

Patrick wanted to give a special thanks his team mate Paul who motivated the team to keep casting as he had literally given up and that 47cm fish came off of his last cast! The pair also had a couple sponsors to thank which were Gill Marine and PC Construction

$500 in cash as the Compleat Angler Nedlands Big Bream for the event!
